That two incredible nights of Visconti-recorded shows, mixed by Bowie in January 1978, sat in a vault for 40 years is insane. David Hemmings ruins everything (see Just a Gigolo. Lol.
For me the top three Bowie live albums are::
1. Live Nassau Coliseum ‘76 (2017) - should’ve been Earl Slick.
2. Welcome to the Blackout ‘78 (2018) - ‘kicks Stages ass’ indeed!
3. Tie Santa Monica ‘72 (1994) and David Live (2005 Visconti-mix) - a sentimental choice. You never forget your first.
