Loving the funky soul vibe of the Cool Jerks setlist. You must've sounded great Sal.

Before The Poison was the first of a long run of stellar albums from Marianne Faithfull in this century. It is also the darkest.

I have some vibrant memories of Willy DeVille, when he lived in NO and was often seen walking around the streets in the French Quarter. He was into the pirate look, way before it became a thing, or the subject of a Seinfeld episode. He was one weird dude, even by NO standards, but when the mood struck him, he was one hell of a musician. That lp should have done way more for his career in the US.

I have a Willy DeVille story. In 2002, Leo Nocentelli, Lil' Band O' Gold and Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas played the Roxy. During the LBOG set, C.C.Adcock introduced a special guest. Willy comes staggering out in a long black duster, barely keeping his balance. He and C.C. said a few things to each and then Willy reached over to the front of the crowd and asked to bum a cigarette. He fell over and that was that.

LOL! That is what you usually saw when you would see him saunter down Decatur St. I saw him once bum cigarettes and beers off of cars stopped in traffic. He just lived in his own world.
