Ouch! Oh Well. LOL! You’re spot on with Cabbage Alley. I intend to start the day with that album and see where it all leads. Matched with a sunny day certainly promising. Thanks for all you do, sir! :)
First, I never considered "Cabbage Alley" one of their best. And then, it hit me yesterday.
Second, I have a real issue with people who rain on others musical parades. Anytime I write about my love of Led Zeppelin, the same five people have to say the same five things about why they think they stink. Just move on. You've said your piece already. It happened again today over at another blog.
That said, I was reluctant to even post that I listened to "Sci-Fi Lullabies." It just didn't work for me and why say so, when someone just raved about it. But I thought, it's not personal and also, these blogs are here for respectful discussion.
I found "Dog Man" and "Sci-Fi" to suffer from the same issue, which is too many songs linger too long. It's a lot of atmosphere that doesn't grab me. I much prefer the "Metal Mickey" and "Animal Nitrate" band.
I take zero offense to anyone’s opinion about my parades. Lol! I’ve valued your musical reviews (and those of other BW contributors) for more years than I can remember. I hope you will continue to always share those. I’ve been introduced to so much outstanding music here. And, I did make a very specific recommendation. A potential t-ball situation, if there ever was. Lol!
Digging Cabbage Alley - on repeat. :)
The Meters are a band that you encouraged an expansion of knowledge. I’ve had the Rhino anthology, Funkify Your Life, for thirty years (Wow!) but, your celebration of the individual albums led to many moments of joy. Thank for that. Keep it real. :)
I listened to Pretzel Logic last night!
Sunflower Bean was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the intro.
Have you heard Wolf Alice’s ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ single? Justin Hawkins was very complimentary. :)
