Roy Harper- HQ
(One of my three fave Roy records. Been awhile. Thanks BBJ for the reminder.)

Syd Barrett- An Introduction To...

Queen- I (2024 Remix)

(On the fence about this remix. About half the songs sound amazing. But a few sound...uh...fake. Gotta try it again. Great to have "Mad The Swine" back in the track sequence.)

Chuck Prophet feat. ¿Qiensave?- Wake The Dead

(Another great addition to Chuck's catalogue. Loved this!)

Bonzo Dog Doo/Dah Band- Gorilla
("Count Basie Orchestra on triangle.")

Linda Ronstadt- Live In Hollywood
(The version of "Blue Bayou" is worth the price of admission. Wow!)

Amyl & The Sniffers- Cartoon Darkness
(I dig this band. But Amy can be a bit much. Good new record, especially when Amy does Penelope Houston. But when she does her Poly Styrene, it grates. Best track: "Me & The Girls.")

The Boys- Alternative Chartbusters

Thanks for the shoutout on Amy and the band, Sal! I’ve been a fan since their debut album, though I don’t know how I got there. Lol!
If it weren’t for you sharing their albums with the world, I don’t think I’d know about of their release for awhile. Odd since I’ve downloaded each on Apple Music as soon as I became aware. Algorithm failure.

Loved Roy’s HQ - thanks again, BBJ!

I see Live in Hollywood in my immediate future.

Thanks to you and BW for all you do! :)

Update: It seems that a Deluxe edition of Live in Hollywood was released today, to include the entire concert. Available on Apple Music. :)

Looking forward to the Chuck Prophet. It'll get some spins over the weekend.

Yesterday, I finally moved on from B to C and mostly down under:
The Cruel Sea - The Honeymoon Is Over
Crowded House - Intriguer (better than I remembered, more psychedelic than usual)
The Chills - Brave Words (so good!)
The Church - Hologram of Baal (a winner from 1998)
Gene Clark - No Other
The Clean - Anthology, Disc 2
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - The Good Son + half of Tender Prey
The Clash - Version Super Black Market Clash (home-made disc made up of tracks from Give Em Enough Rope, Super Black Market Clash, On Broadway, and Sandanista)

- Paul in DK

'I've had a boot of the full "Live In Hollywood" for years -- it's a fantastic set. I'll have to see if this "deluxe edition" sounds any different.

I listened to a lot of music today, but at the end of the day - prepping for Game 1 - I played the new Chuck Prophet. So much joy! Fantastic! Shared with friends.
Proceeded to listen to The Land That Time Forgot and it was incredible too!
Reviewing BW history, it seems that this album as well as Temple Beautiful and Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins are the most played/referenced on BW.
My question for you, kind sir is: Are these your Top 3 Chuck album recommendations? (Asking for a friend).
I bought No Other Love on CD upon its release and loved it.

Hope you enjoy the series and tonight’s game. Go Dodgers!!!

I was at this game as a kid - first base side. Yankees won, which was a bit of a bummer. Lol! :)

Coincidentally, I was listening to "Wake Up Dead" for a second time when your comment came through. Loved it even more. If I had to pick three fave Chuck records, they would be "Land That Time Forgot," "Temple Beautiful" and now, "Wake Up Dead." (Though, "Let Freedom Ring" is right up there, too.)

Thanks, Sal! Yesterday, Chuck could do no wrong. I’ve got my cart loaded with his vinyl.
I’m listening to Stephanie Finch & The Company Men’s Cry Tomorrow. It’s a nice morning decompression from last night’s total tension. Here’s hoping the entire series is as awesome and dramatic as Game 1. :)

Boone lost that game. Never should have walked Betts. Never should have put in Nestor in a high tension situation after not pitching for 37 days.

Best quote I heard post-game was from Big Papi: ‘When you’re a pitcher in the World Series facing three league MVPs, back-to-back-back, only god can help you.’
