• Revisiting "Love Devotion Surrender" last week knocked me out. I decided I needed an upgrade and this MoFi half speed master is perfect. A fantastic pressing.
• "This Was" is my favorite Tull album, followed by "Stand Up" and "Thick As A Brick." Needless to say, I was stoked to see Rhino release a box with the first five Jethro Tull records all revamped by the one and only Kevin Gray. I've had an original U.K. MONO of "This Was," an original U.K. stereo, an original U.S. stereo and a Steven Wilson remix. None come close to this Kevin Gray cut. Can't wait to dig in to the other four.

I’m not sure I can rank them, but This Was, Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, and Warchild are my top 6 from Jethro Tull. Aqualung was the first LP I bought. Benefit has With You There To Help Me, To Cry You A Song, and Inside which are all superb, but it often is underrated.

Re Elvis Costello: Full props for writing out the album title like that. Much respect. Listened to the grab bag of random shit from Prince called Timeless? I thought it sounded precisely like random shit but the quality was a little better than I expected. Rolling Stone sounded pissed it wasn't a new "Sign O The Times" or something. I mean, what did they expect at this stage?
I was going to force myself to listen to "Timeless" just because. No chance now.

Somewhat relatedly, went to see Squeeze at Radio City on Saturday night. Enjoyed the show immensely. Glenn Tilbrook still has the pipes! Trixies sounded great too.
"Imperial Bedroom", no matter ho you spelt, remains one of my favorite albums of all time.
