Neil Young- Mirror Ball (1995)- ***1/2
(Wow, this was much better than I remembered.)

I called up a couple of those Mirror Ball songs yesterday and I had the same reaction. The album didn’t do much for me when it came out, but maybe I’m ready for a revisit.
Listened to the new McCartney three times now and have liked it each time. It’s the right album for his age and experience.
The one Pearl Jam gig I went to was at the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park around the time of Mirror Ball. Neil was supposed to play a few songs with PJ. Unfortunately, it was 104F and Eddie drank too much wine before the show. He lasted about 15 minutes. Neil took over and made it his gig.
I’ve been reading John Masouri’s Stepping Razor: The Life of Peter Tosh and there’s a section about Eric Gale going to Negril JA. He ended up recording a very tasty album with Tosh and many of the Wailers. A very good first listen today. https://www.discogs.com/release/3335355-Negril-Negril
