Paul McCartney- Working Classical (1999)- ***1/2
(First time hearing this. I'm no expert on classical music, so I have no idea if this is considered good. I did enjoy it though, especially the string quartet's versions of some deep Macca cuts.)
Chico Hamilton Quintet w/Eric Dolphy- Original Ellington Suite (1958)- ****
(Hamilton recorded this record twice, once in '58 and again in '59 with different musicians. The original session remained unissued until 2000.)
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass- What Now My Love (1966)- ****
(Three seconds in and I am immediately back in Brooklyn. This record was a fave of the entire family and I still think it's pretty damn great.)
Temple Of The Dog- S/T (1991)- ****
Judy Mowatt- Black Woman (1980)- ****1/2
v/a- Reggae's Greatest Hits (2026)- ****1/2
(A spur of the moment mix of songs I needed to hear today. It's below, if you're interested.)
Snooks Eaglin w/George Porter Jr. & Kim Joseph- Live At Tramps, 8/29/93 (1993)- ****
(Thanks for this, Troy! Excellent.)
Utopia- Oops! Wrong Planet (1977)- ****1/2
Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds- S/T (1992)- ****
