Duncan Browne- Give Me Take You (1968)- ***1/2
Winston Francis- Mr. Fix It (1969)-****
(Love this record. It's like Sam Cooke's reggae record.)
Donald Harrison Jr. & Dr. John- Indian Blues (1992)-****
v/a- Killed By Deaf: A Punk Tribute To Motorhead (2025)- ***1/2
(Better than I expected.)
John Martyn- Sunday's Child (1975)- ***1/2
Moody Blues- Long Distance Voyager (1981)- ***1/2
(I've never liked the Moody Blues, not even the hits. I always felt
like they were average players and their records were hokey. Then I
read something on All Music, where they say "Long Distance Voyager"
might as well be an ELO album. I remember hating those videos when they would
come on MTV. But, that was 45 years ago. "Long Distance Voyager" is
really good! I swear, it's a really good 80's ELO album. I'm stunned.)
Elton John- Tumbleweed Connection (1970)- ****
Blossom Toes- We Are Ever So Clean (1967)-****
(Essential 60's psychedelia!)
The Beatles- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: Giles Martin Stereo Remix (1967/2017)- ****
Moody Blues- Every Good Boy Deserves Favour (1971)- **
(Nah. Gave up at Track Four. I prefer the Moodies when they sound like ELO.)
Electric Light Orchestra- Zoom (2001)- ****
(Every song on this album is a Top Ten hit, yet the album and tour tanked! Wrong place, wrong time. Then, years later, Jeff Lynne becomes a hit once again, deservedly so. This record might as well be considered lost. It needs a reissue. Sorry, just riffing here.)
Dead Boys- We Have Come For Your Children (1978)- ****
("Young, Loud & Snotty" is an all-timer for me. It's a perfect punk record. It's so perfect that this record, which is perfect, doesn't seem perfect. Point? Both Dead Boys records are perfect.)
The Runaways- Queens Of Noise (1977)- ***1/2

Will have to check out that Winston Francis set. The sample was a lot of fun.
Best thing I listened to yesterday was Duke Levine – Country Soul Guitar (1994) https://www.discogs.com/release/7813284-Duke-Levine-Country-Soul-Guitar

ELO's Zoom is my favorite album of theirs, alongside the debut. I'm a fan solely because of your proselytizing.
