Dr. Michael White- A Song For George Lewis (2000)- ***1/2
Bob Mould- Here We Go Crazy (2025)- ***1/2
Ace Frehley- Frehley's Comet (1987)- ***1/2

Miles Kane- Sunlight In The Shadows (2025)- ****

(This was fun. This sounded like The Black Keys trying to make a T.Rex record. Good stuff on first pass.)

Chrissie Hynde- Duets Special: Sal Edit (2025)- ***
(Nah, even I can't help this record.)

Mike Viola- Lurch (2007)-

Robin Taylor Zander- RTZ (2025)- ***1/2
(Nice follow-up to the debut, better I think. Still no real home runs, but a pleasant spin.)

Bird Streets- The Escape Artist (2025)-***1/2
(Good, not great. I wanted more from this since Jason Falkner is all over it. A few really nice songs, but again, no real home runs.)

Kiss- Love Gun (1977)- ****
The Replacements- Don't Tell A Soul: Matt Wallace Mix (1989/2019)- ****

Thanks for the Miles Kane. Took a minute to recall where I knew the name. So, I enjoyed both Sunlight in the Shadows and The Last Shadow Puppets debut from 2008. A win-win. Gracias.
Love Gun is such a solid album. More classics! I always forget about the Van Halen connection with ‘Christine Sixteen’. There was a time when Kiss was turning out albums at an Elton John pace. For what they were doing, remarkably high quality and consistency during that span.
Don’t Tell A Soul was another album in heavy rotation in 1989. Thanks for the callback, sir! :)

Please remind me, what Van Halen connection with "Christeen Sixteen?"

It seems Gene recorded the demo with unknowns Eddie and Alex Van Halen. Then he apparently demanded that the demo be reproduced exactly by the band during the album recording sessions. :)

It was released on 10 CDs entitled Gene Simmons Vault in 2017. :)

In my best Johnny Carson, "I did not know that!"

I’d only read about it over the years on the www. Didn’t know it had been released until I looked this morning to see if I could find you a copy. Lol!
It seems Ace wasn’t thrilled to have to mimic Eddie’s solo. The beginning of the end…

"I did not know that." Hahahaha. I'm so old, I got the Johnny Carson reference. As for the Chrissie Hynde, I had to listen to kd lang (who just lost interest in recording, I guess, or has nothing to say at the moment) and Rufus Wainwright and a few others and...no. But at least lang sounds great. Rufus, as I've felt for years now, is more in love with his voice than the lyrics he's singing. Will check out Miles Kane.
