Eric Dolphy- Out To Lunch-****
(A favorite. It's far enough out there to keep you on your toes, but knows just where to pull back the reins as to not lose the casual jazz fan...I think. But what do I know?)

Milton Nascimento & Los Borges- Clube da Esquina- ***1/2
Kenny Drew- Undercurrent- ***1/2
David Bowie- Divine Symmetry (An Alt. Journey Through "Hunky Dory": Personal Playlist)- ****

Deep Purple- Made In Japan (Steven Wilson Remix)- **1/2
(There aren't very many records that I once loved but now don't. This did nothing for me today.)

The Idle Race- The Birthday Party (Plus Non-LP Tracks)- ****
The Beatles- Abbey Road Sessions-****

The Beatles- Essen, 6/25/66-****

(This is not as big of a trainwreck as San Francisco. Actually, there are more than a few moments of magic. And there is something charming about hearing the Fabs not so fab. George introduces "Yesterday" as a "song from 'Beatles For Sale,'" and then Paul gets the lyrics of the first verse wrong. It's raw, and they probably couldn't hear a thing, yet they still nail most of the three part harmonies.)

The Beach Boys- Today! (Stereo)- ****
(When was the last time you heard The Students' original version of "I'm So Young?")

v/a- Porky's Revenge O.S.T.- ****
(George covers Dylan with Jimmie Vaughan on guitar and produced by Dave Edmunds. I'm in.)

Joe Jackson- Summer In The City: Live In New York- ****
(All of these shows were special. Joe played dozens of NYC shows in 1999 and 2000. I was at most of them. Every one a winner. I have most of the ticket stubs. The Bottom Line, $20. Radio City, $25 for 18th row orchestra. Joe's Pub, $30. Now in NYC, a balcony seat for Joe's last tour was $125.)

Todd Rundgren- Fort Wayne, 7/15/25- ****
(Fantastic. Tight band. Tight set, Great voice.)

When was the last time you heard The Students' original version of "I'm So Young?" Never. Thanks.

Adjusting for inflation...yeah, ticket prices are crazy. $20-$30 in today's dollars would be slightly less than doubled. So those same tickets should cost $40 to $60. **sigh**

Listened to Dolphy's Out To Lunch at lunch today. "Something Sweet, Something Tender" took me for a ride down a bumpy path before dropping me off in a dreamlike field. Exhilarating and refreshing.
