Paul Weller- Find El Dorado- ****
(Really enjoyed the second spin.)

Ozzy Osbourne- Under Cover- ****1/2
(I had no idea this record existed before this week. And it's produced by my man Mark Hudson. And it features Jerry Cantrell on guitar. And Ian Hunter! And songs you thought you never wanted to hear covered ever again. But guess what? It all works! This is a very smart record. Trust me. Mark Hudson is a genius.)

George Harrison- Brainwashed-****

Queen Patsy & Stranger Cole- The Fabulous Songs Of Miss Sonia Pottinger Vol. 1- ****1/2
(This is insanely good. Mid-60's ska would be the easy way to describe this collection. But it's unbelievably diverse, with twists and turns in and out of doo-wop, pop, R&B and more.)

Peter Gabriel- S/T (Debut, Side One Plus "Slowburn.")- ****
XTC- Apple Venus Volume One-****
Wet Leg- moisturizer- ****

Bryan Ferry- Bete Noire (Dolby Atmos)- ****
(Somewhere in the comments over the last week, someone mentioned this. I can't find the comment, so I will say here and now, this sounded great! You could drive a car around the horns, guitars and vocals on "Limbo." Great suggestion, wherever it is.)

David Bowie- Toy (Unplugged & Somewhat Slightly Electric)- ****

Saw Stanger Cole about 12 years ago in a Sydney pub. Didn’t know anything about him other than he was part of JA ska. What a glorious sweaty night it turned out to be. Will have to track down that album with Queen Patsy.

I gave a first spin to the new Weller and I enjoyed a handful of the songs, but more than half didn’t wow me. I may make a playlist out of those I liked. Fortunately, he’s got a lot of great material in that vast catalog that I do enjoy.

Wow to the cover of the day. Where do you find this stuff? I had trouble figuring out the authors until I read on discogs that the song was based on Blues In The Night.

Harvest Festival on Apple Venus Vol. 1 is in my top 3 XTC songs, and I'm not sure what the other 2 are (they rotate in and out)

I'm glad you tried Paul Weller again. I found it initially disappointing but he's so good that eventually he gets to you, even if you don't want him to.
