I love most of the work from Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros. Lots of smart songs that don't sound like anyone else.
Yesterday, I went back to the CD collection and got very happily stuck in the F section.
Bill Frisell - East/West (Disc 1 = West)
one of his best
French Frith Kaiser Thompson - Invisible Means
Mostly engaging but Henry Kaiser is an acquired taste. He seems to bring out the weird in Richard Thompson.

Good songs marred by too many "radio" interludes
Fountains of Wayne - Utopia Parkway
I like this album, but the vocals often sounded mechincal yesterday, especially on the verses.

Rocking fun!
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs - Fabulosos Calavera
Nino Diamante may be the best example of jazz/rock/ska ever recorded. Of course, there's not too much competition.

Good, but not her best.
