(I love the idea of this, but it's pretty obvious that Miss LaVette doesn't really know most of the material. She rarely sings the actual melody of any of these songs. Yes, it's called "Interpretations," but it'd be nice to recognize some of these great songs.)

I'm a big fan of Bettye LaVette, but Interpretations is disappointing. Fortunately, she's got a lot of other releases that are killer (e.g., I've Got My Own Hell To Raise, Things Have Changed).
