Wow, Bad Company beat out Rough Mix, that's a suprise.
Jeff,
I don't think "Burnin' Sky" is a better record than "Rough Mix." That's not what "Best Thing I Listened To" is. I've always thought "Burnin' Sky" was the weakest of the first four Bad Co. records, so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it yesterday.
Rough Mix just might be my favorite of Pete's non-Who work, and it lead me only a few years ago to Slim Chance and more of Ronnie's wonderful solo years. Odds & Sods gets a lot of spins here, too.
Lately, I've been playing mostly my CD collection. Yesterday were letter G bands/artists. It ended up being an awesome day of listening:
Gersey - Hope Springs (sadly a band no more, but this debut album still is a glorious indie twin-guitar album)
Gelbison - 1704 (saw these guys open for Wilco on the YHF tour, so I grabbed this one)
Danny Gatton - In Concert 9/9/94
Galaxie 500 - On Fire
The Go-Betweens - Tallulah
Marvin Gaye - The Very Best of
Gin Blossoms - New Miserable Experience
Greyboy Allstars - A Town Called Earth
Groovy, Volume 3 (great soul/jazz compilation)
