Akinmuserie's "Beauty Is Enough" was good, but ultimately it felt like a bit of an exercise for me rather than a cohesive work, so not on my best of year list. Looking forward to Owl Music.
I haven't liked any of Akinmusire's records. They're all amelodic to me. I only listened to "Owl Music" because Herlin Riley was on drums. Turns out, he barely plays on it. It bored me, like all the others.
