Thanks for the ‘Siren’! Sometimes I think my favorite Roxy album is whichever one I’m listening to at the moment. Tough problem to have. Though you never forget your first and this was mine. Also, excited to watch the Wailers concert. Thanks for all you do, sir. Have a great day!

I had a pretty intense week at work last week and saw that the Neil Young concert documentary Heart of Gold was playing on Hulu. It was a good antidote to my week. I especially enjoyed the songs from Comes a Time. Four Strong Winds remains a favorite.

Agree with Dr Wu. Siren was my first Roxy Music album, and I think it’s their best. The production, the songs, Ferry’s voice. It’s a keeper.

This is what I wrote about "Siren" on The Other 100 series :

11. Roxy Music- Siren

There doesn't seem to be a lot of love among the cognoscenti for "Siren," Roxy Music's "disco" album. Was it because it was popular, with a genuine hit in "Love Is The Drug?" This record runs neck and neck with "For Your Pleasure" as my favorite Roxy Music record, but this is the one comes with me, because it has the very best drum sound I have ever heard on record. But also, it seems to perfectly mix the best of early Roxy with what later Roxy became. "Siren" nails it with accessible melodies and occasionally off-center arrangements. And again, it's drummer Paul Thompson's shining hour. Not a bad song in the bunch.

I can get behind this write up! I’ve been chasing this Roxy sound ever since, through Ferry’s solo albums and of course the other Roxy albums. Many of them are great, but Siren is the one.
