Hey Sal—
Weighing in on the Joe Jackson discussion over here. I’ve always considered I’m the Man one of my favorite JJ albums, some days edging out Look Sharp. Did you feel like only listening to side one, or did you abandon the project?
Speaking of Heaven and Hell, I saw him at the Beacon for that tour. The only thing I remember from it—and it was a true highlight of my concert-going life—was Joe coming out for one of the encores without the band. He was carrying an electric guitar and a little amp. He plugged both in and proceeded to lay a very punk version of I’m the Man.

Bill,
I only listened to Side One because I got caught up in the news. I think someone else mentioned "I'm The Man" as a favorite. I really like it...nay...I love it, but I love a few others more. "Look Sharp" to me is perfect. Even the tosser "Instant Mash" has something really special going on.
Spoiler Alert:
Tomorrow's Weekend Mix is a JJ Deep Cuts mix which includes some live covers. I didn't see the Heaven & Hell, or at least I don't think I did. But I honestly can't recall any JJ show out of a couple or dozen or so that I have seen, that wasn't amazing.
Looking forward to the mix!
Speaking of Instant Mash, back in my younger days I worked at a pizza restaurant that had a jukebox. We got friendly with the guy who came in every month to collect the quarters and change some records out and were able to put a few singles of our own on the jukebox. One of those singles was Is She Really Going Out With Him, which was backed by Instant Mash. One of the night managers hated Instant Mash, so of course it had to get many airings while we mopped up at night. Those were quarters well spent.
