I've been listening to Monk's Piano Solo, Monk's Music et al thanks to the new live release and his birthday. I imagine that spurred you on too. In fact, I innocently always assumed EVERYONE was rushing around to listen to this or that when someone died or it was their birthday. Apparently it's just you and me, mostly.
Actually, I bought a handful of records--2 Miles, 2 Monk--the other day and was digging in, having nothing to do with "Palo Alto." Speaking of which, have you heard "Palo Alto" and what do you think? Most of the advance hype has been good, but I also read about the poor sound quality, which has put me off.
