(A friend enjoyed his performance on SNL and thought I should give the record a spin. Made it about halfway. It's everything I despise about the current state of pop music- half-assed ideas, no actual songs, samples and effects, two note melodies. Nope.)
Robin Zander- The Canyon Club, 12/12/13 (2013)- ***1/2
(This was fun, RZ playing some deep Cheap Trick tracks, a few solo tracks and a whole lotta covers. Zander sounds amazing, as always, but the band is very hamfisted. Good show, once.)

(Saw these guys at the Mercury Lounge about a year before this record came out and I felt like they were going to explode. It was like watching Led Zeppelin in someone's living room. But, they never happened. I still love this record.)
