Lazy Lester- S/T (Flyright)- ***1/2

Stephen Bishop- THIMK- ***1/2
(I have no feelings about Stephen Bishop one way or the other. I was just curious about his "final" album and its special guests. I enjoyed this more than I expected to. Some truly great songs.)

Joe Bataan- Saint Latin's Day Massacre- ****
(An absolute classic boogaloo record. If you've even been curious, start here.)

Al Green- The Reverend (Personal Playlist)- ****
Led Zeppelin- III- ****
Galactic- Ya-Ka-May- ***1/2

Buckingham Nicks- S/T- ***

(This record is ok. With the big reissue coming, I thought I'd go in again. Same three good songs I liked then, I still like now. But other than that, it's kinda bland.)

The Monkees- Me & My Monkees (Personal Playlist)- ****1/2
(Man, I was really in the mood for this.)

Iggy Pop- Lust For Life-****

(Hey, vinyl freaks! The "Back To Black" reissue is absolute crap. My iPod sounded better.)

The Weeklings- 3-****

Just when my listening list was getting manageable, now I have Joe Bataan and Jennifer Lara to take in. Thank you. Oh, and that Patsy version of of Hangin' On was good, but the best is Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis from their Our Year record in 2014. Cher did a surprisingly good version also on her underrated Muscle Shoals record.

One of my favorite 45s is "A Love Like Yours" by Nilsson & Cher b/w "Hanging On" by Cher.

I'm lookin forward to listening to Buckingham/Nicks for the first time and crossing my fingers they tour together or do Fleetwood minus McVie one more time. Thank goodness the album wasn't better: if it hadn't flopped, we might have no pop era Mac!

Nice version of A Love Like Yours, maybe a little too Phil Spector, but good. Surprisingly, the Animals did a version that turned out quite well. Original was a b-side by Martha and the Vandellas (you probably know that).

Well as I said, it’s one of my favorite 45s, so probably my fave version. Also, this might be the first time a Phil Spector production was called “too Phil Spector.” 😁

I love Phil's work in the mid-sixties with the girl groups and Ritcheous Brothers but sometimes he's too much, and sometimes I think he's just the wrong guy. I would have loved to have heard All Things Must Pass produced by someone else (another too Phil Spector record).
