Paul McCartney- Chaos & Creation In The Backyard- ****1/2
(I love this record so much, I really believe it is his best. Hard to say out loud, but I'm feeling it.)

The Abyssinians- Satta Massagana (Original Jamaican Mix)- ***1/2

Sonny Sharrock Band- Seize The Rainbow- ****
(Another record that riles me up in the best ways. Gnarly guitars and a massive two drummer rhythm section, just hammering through songs that actually have sweet melodies in the middle of all the chaos. An all time fave.)

Roxy Music- Country Life-****
Robert Fripp- Exposure (Third Edition)- ****

The Stooges- Fun House- ****
(A damn riff machine! One of the greatest rock and roll albums of all time.)

Dead Boys- Young, Loud & Snotty-****1/2
(Another that gets better and better with age, both its and mine!)

Goo Goo Dolls- A Boy Named Goo-****

Prince- Dirty Mind- ****1/2
(This is where I came in and it's where I'll stay. Punk music you can dance to. "Purple Rain?" Yeah, ok. ~yawn~ This and "Parade," that's where it's at!)

Man, that’s some good listening, sir. I intend to mimic a bit of the middle sequence today. Chef’s kiss. An emphatic ‘yes’ to Dirty Mind (doesn’t everyone remember where they were when they learned of Lisa?) and Parade being perfect Prince albums - and the coolest. Seems nearly everyone covered ‘When You Were Mine’. Thanks for always keeping things interesting, Sal. Hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Looks like you had another fine day of listening. Last week, I came across Ethnic Heritage Ensemble via a copy of an FM broadcast. So yesterday I tried a recent album, Open Me, A Higher Consciousness of Sound and Spirit. It’s at the freer end of jazz, but full of unique rhythms and some excellent horns and violin. https://ethnicheritageensemble.bandcamp.com/album/open-me-a-higher-consciousness-of-sound-and-spirit

I also played a new-to-me album by a band I’m very familiar with, Even, from Melbourne. This self-titled set from 2008 is a superb set of power-pop and rock songs. Highly recommended!

Chaos & Creation has serious competition for best solo McCartney but I wouldn't argue with anyone picking it. I too feel Parade is Prince at his peak.

I'll check out Dead Boys but the cover image makes me think they're gonna mug me!

When Parade came out I was a bit taken aback but over the years I have grown to love it.

I love Chaos... How do you feel about Egypt Station? I hold both those albums in high esteem.

Really like Egypt. Over the years, all of the Macca records I dismissed, I now love, especially "Speed Of Sound" and "Memory Almost Full." The only ones I still have a hard time with are "Press To Play," "Off The Ground" and "Driving Rain," but still I like at least half of all three.

‘I now love, especially Wings At The Speed Of Sound’. Do we have Monday’s record? Lol!
I often use BW as reference material. As such, there are occasionally opportunities to observe your experience with an album over more than a decade. This album is an outstanding example of one person’s evolution (start with BW 02.08.2010). I’ve favorably reconsidered a couple of McCartney albums with a prompt from BW. I’m open for another. Thanks, Sal! :)

Thanks, Sal! :)
‘Cook of the House’ no longer irritates me at all. Lol!
