Roland Kirk- We Free Kings-***1/2
Cartola- S/T- ***1/2

Tony Hazzard- Demonstration-****
(Excellent. Review coming on Burning Wood.)

BettySoo- If You Never Go Away (about half)- ***
(Average and typical alt-country/pop record out of Nashville. Not bad, just not very exciting.)

Split Enz- See Ya 'Round- ***1/2
(Last Split Enz album or the first Crowded House album? Either way, it misses the mark. But the five good songs are really good, and so it is a keeper.)

Black Sabbath- Vol. 4- ****
(Four songs into this and I get the news that Ozzy passed. I am freaking out a bit.)

Black Sabbath- Never Say Die- ****
(The album everyone loves to trash, including the band. It's why the band broke up. I love it. I guess metal heads had a hard time with the saxophones and synthesizers. If nothing else, listen to "Junior's Eyes.")

Yes- Talk- ***1/2
Split Enz- Corroboree- ***1/2

Led Zeppelin- In Through The Out Door- ****
(Another record with a bad rep.)

Thin Lizzy- Vagabonds Of The Western World (Plus a few bonus tracks)- ****

For a man who was written off as dead nearly a half century ago, Ozzy did alright indeed. Lol! Fired and his management contract given away for free; Sabbath hires Dio and produces one of the greatest metal albums ever and the third bestselling album in the band’s career. The day Heaven and Hell is released, sessions are finished for Ozzy’s solo debut. I read somewhere, that Blizzard of Ozz is the biggest ‘FU’ album to a former band of all-time. Arguably, even got himself a better guitarist in Randy Rhoads. As insanely awesome as Heaven and Hell is, nearly everyone in the world knows ‘Crazy Train’. Lol! His follow-up, Diary of a Madman, was maybe just as great. Ozzy brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people. R.I.P.

How did I miss See Ya 'Round? I’m a big fan of Conflicting Emotions, less so of Corroboree.

"See Ya Round" was Australian only. Easy to miss. And yeah, "Conflicting" is a better record than "Corroboree," but the latter has two of my fave Neil somgs- "Iris" and "History Never Repeats."

I agree with you about Never Say Die. I don't get the anger towards it. A Hard Road is Sabbath at their glammiest (which is a good thing in my book ).

Another reggae of the week winner. I never really got into Perry’s solo stuff, and there’s too many to pick from, but this is good stuff. I’m enjoying checking them out each week. Cleveland Jeff
