Miles Davis/Sonny Rollins- Dig- ***1/2

The Meters-S/T-****
(Just rated their catalogue over at POPSURFING, so I needed to listen.)

Roxy Music- Manifesto (Remix)- ***1/2
(I love this record and it is usually a 4-star listen. Some days higher. But I inadvertently listened to the repress which replaced "Dance Away" and "Ain't That So" with inferior remixes. That'll never happen again.)

Badfinger- Wish You Were Here-****
(Every time I play it, I think this may be their best, or at least their most consistent.)

Gregory Isaacs- Night Nurse- ***1/2

Key- Fit Me In-*** 1/2
(Fun, one and done pop band from Germany. Very Macca.)

Matthew Sweet- Blue Sky On Mars- ****
(Yeah yeah. I know. "Girlfriend!" Yes, "Girlfriend" is a great record, and it's where most of us came in. But this one gets the job done in half the time!)

Gyasi- Androgyne- ***1/2
(Good record, but the new one is better.)

The Beach Boys- 15 Big Ones- ****
(This will never be on anyone's Top Beach Boys Albums list, but it's on mine. A much better record than people think.)

Golden Earrings- Winter-Harvest-****
(Five or six albums before "Radar Love!" Long career, many great records, many terrible records. But this one is worth your time.)

I never connected with Blue Sky on Mars, but 100% Fun was good. Girlfriend is great, but so is Kimi Ga Suki, maybe not better, but equal, and my favorite now that I’ve heard Girlfriend almost too many times.

"Blue Sky" is the one I play most, so I guess it must be my fave.

I’ll have to give it another spin.

Finally gave a spin to Joe Higgs’ Life of Contradiction. What a beautiful record!

Any updates on Matthew Seeet's health? I haven't seen anything in a while

I'll have to give 15 Big Ones another listen. But one year later in 1977 I dug the weird album The Beach Boys Love You! Their last good album, I think.

Played that one earlier today. Incredible.

It really is stunning. Some days it's my favorite reggae record of all. I just got a Joe Higgs studio rehearsal from 1984 with a bunch of "LOC" songs. Haven't listened yet, but if it's worthwhile, I'll pass it along.

Blue Sky on Mars is tight and a favorite. I recall paying import price for Kimi Ga Suki and was happy to do so. In Reverse is another favorite - found in a discount bin in Europe. Matthew Sweet is pure goodness! I hope he’s doing better.
Enjoyed your reviews on POPSURFING. A handy reference for the future. Thanks for all you do, sir! :)
