I tried the Gregory Isaacs earlier this week and didn’t care for the sound of the album. Too much 80’s technology used.
I also struggled today with Valerie June – Owls, Omens, and Oracles. Gave up after 4 songs due to her nasal whine of a voice.
Brian Dunne - Loser On The Ropes provided a good first spin, but it’s a bit too much the same throughout. He’s the drummer for Fantastic Cat.

For many years, Squeezing Out Sparks was my favorite Parker album, probably because it was the first album of his that I picked up. That was sparked by hearing Local Girls on the radio. Remember when they used to play stuff like that on the radio?
Remember radio?
But these days the first two albums get a lot more airtime on the old turntable. They’re hard to beat.
