The Cry! is a nice set of tunes. Ornette Coleman mostly makes me twitch, and not in a good way. D.E. 7th, Secret Treaties, Never Say Die, and the C Weekend Mix are all fun.

I gave Dwight Yoakam - Brighter Days a spin yesterday. Very nice, though a bit long at 14 tracks. Miles Davis - Miles '54 (The Prestige Recordings) is worth a listen for the sound quality as well as the beautiful music.

I agree, the Dwight is too long. But what's good is really good.
RE: Ornette--if you like "The Cry," listen to Ornette's two records on Contemporary--"Something Else" and "Tomorrow Is The Question" Much different than the twitchy stuff on Atlantic or Blue Note.
