(Had no idea this existed, as I am not a Serge fan. I discovered it on a reggae blog. Lots of Jamiacan heavy hitters backing up Gainsbourg. Sounds exactly like you think it would sound. Not bad.)

(Once a year I try to get into the Doors, mostly because I really like Side One of their debut. So I made a playlist with most of Side One and a few other songs I thought I liked. But I lose patience so quickly. I really can't listen to Jim Morrison for more than a song or two without saying out loud to no one, "Jim, just shut the fuck up!")

A college roommate first played me Lou Reed- Street Hassle more than 40 years ago. The album wasn't totally life-changing, but every time I hear "I Wanna Be Black", I have a great laugh all over again.
As for The Doors, I feel the same way, some great singles, but any of the albums is a hard slog.
I'm really enjoying the latest Paul Kelly.
