9/3/24

Jon Anderson & The Band Geeks- True

African Head Charge- Drastic Season (about half)

(Man, this is one weird record.)

v/a- Niney The Observer Presents Jah Fire!
Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster NCF All Stars- The Broadside, 5/1/24
Eno- Here Come The Warm Jets
Jefferson Airplane- Surrealistic Pillow (Kevin Gray MONO Master)

Living Colour- Shade
(If you have ever enjoyed this band, this is a late career gem,)

The Rolling Stones- S/T (U.K.MONO)
The Rolling Stones- Now! (MONO)

(These records are terribly underrated. I think both "Aftermath" and "Between The Buttons" are overrated. They seem to lose their way a bit. But on the first three or four, they really knew what they wanted.)

Robyn Hitchcock mentions in 1967: How I Got There and Why I Never Left that he was a boarding school classmate of Brian Eno (Eno is 3 years older) and they had some interactions at events. Now I need to give "Warm Jets" a spin.

I've been on a binge of Bowie's later work this week. Started with Toy (disc 1 of the box set). A day later it was Blackstar. Today 1 Outside. Really enjoyed the first two, but I doubt I will play 1 Outside again.

Have you listened to The Cactus Blossoms? They are a duo of brothers, very much like the Everlys. Both their eponymous debut and the follow-up, You're Dreaming, are very good. The vocal harmonies are top notch. They have two newer sets which I will try sometime soon. Stoplight Kisses
