Bravo on the Sly & Robbie selection, sir. Had given the new Stones a few spins again this morning then segued to the Sly & Robbie. It just took over the entire morning. Perfect for a rainy morning, isn’t it? Thanks for the share, Sal!

Listening to John Cale’s Mercy. It’s a solid follow-up to the morning’s Sly & Robbie. I don’t recall you sharing a review of this album (a search of BW came up short). Understanding that Cale is right up there with Rundgren for you, I’m curious of your thoughts. Thanks, Sal for raising my awareness.

My first listen to Cale's "Mercy" left me cold. I found it dark and dense and too long. I wanted to wait for another spin before I wrote about it, but it took some time to go back, because as I said, it left me cold. Yesterday, I was in the mood and I really enjoyed it. Sometimes, it's me and not the record.

I can absolutely see how one’s mood is a variable with this album. In my comparatively limited experience with Cale, he’s not shy about making me work for it - but, more often than not, the reward is well-worth the effort. I’m enjoying it very much this morning. African Head Charge is on-deck. Thanks for the soundtrack of my rainy Thursday, Sal!

I really enjoyed the African Head Charge, by the way.
