Alice Coltrane- Universal Consciousness (1971) ***1/2
James Chance- Irresistible Impulse: Disc Two (2003) **1/2
Pink Floyd- 8-Tracks (2026) ****

The Beatles- Yesterday & Today: Deidre's 2026 Stereo Mix (2026) ****
(I'm not usually a fan of fan made remixes, but this was absolutely stunning. It's on YouTube, and there is a link to download WAV files in the comments.)

The Mamas & The Papas- Golden Album (1968) ****
(Japanese only vinyl hits collection on RCA Living Stereo! Did not know this existed but I'm thrilled that I found it. Perfect song selection and fantastic sound.)

Jennifer Lara- Studio One Presents...(1981) ****
Rush- Anika's Third Night, Inglewood: 6/11/2026 (2026) ****
The Kinks- Misfits (1978) ***1/2

Lou Reed- Rock 'n' Roll Animal: Complete (1974/20??) ****
(This album and "Lou Reed Live" edited together and resequenced by someone, sometime ago. "Lou Reed Live" is often considered a throwaway, but I like it more than "Rock 'n' Roll Animal" and this "deluxe" edit is a killer. It's the only way to fly.)

“Wot’s… Uh the Deal?” - thank you so much for the introduction, sir.

From a recent NYT review of the Songbook reissue: “… dedicating his “Hi Lee Hi” to the Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia”. If this helps :)

Yes, the NYT was one of the sources. As I said, another article says "Jerry Garcia's 'Hi Lee Hi."

Apple Music reflects Toussaint as the songwriter. It’s like it doesn’t exist in the world outside of this album. :)

Drummer Annika seems to have been expected to know every song in their catalogue from day one. I mean, they keep doing entire albums! Quite the challenge, no? Asks the non-drummer.

Dumb question: how could one do a remix/remastering of an album without access to the individual tracks of the songs?

There are computer programs that can isolate tracks from existing recordings.

I've been obsessed with this since night one. Anika is blowing me away. She may have nailed the "Tom Sawyer" fills, but a lot of what she is playing is NOT note for note Neil and I find it incredibly exhilarating.

First four shows they've only played "Moving Pictures" in its entirety. They played all of Side One of "2112." But yeah, so far they've played at least 40 songs over the first four nights. I can't imagine how she prepared.
