“Who did it better?” Whichever one is on the turntable at the moment.
- Paul in DK
I love them both, but the even faster tempo on Dave's version just edge's Nick's. But Paul in DK (Denmark?) has a good point.
Dave's is a live version.. I'll take Nick in the studio and behind the board. As a drum sound snob, I think you'd agree
"drum sound snob"
I wear it proudly.
Blue Plate Special was a revelation. Perfect for a Sunday morning. Played it twice, then shared with friends. Thank you. :)
In the early years, I always preferred Bananarama’s version of songs. That DIY girl group vibe worked for me.
“Young At Heart” actually written by members of both bands, then subsequently released by both. “Our Lips Are Sealed” was written by members of The Go-Gos and Fun Boy Three, then released by both as well.
(“Under Pressure” was written by both Queen and Bowie but, only released by Queen - except for later Bowie greatest hit collections).
I’m curious about other examples of artists jointly writing and separately releasing songs.
Thanks for all you do, sir. And congratulations on the Knicks championship! :)

Great topic!
Nice! With “Under Pressure”, I may have muddied the water. It’s really about releasing two unique versions of the cowritten song within a reasonable timeframe. The Bowie covers on Tonight would not be eligible, for example. :)
There are a couple, maybe three Michael McDonald/Kenny Loggins tunes that would qualify, including "What A Fool Believes."
It was meant as a compliment
Oh yeah. Nice! (Feeling a little silly missing a song that they’ve done a mockumentary on. Lol)
“Take It Easy” - Jackson Browne and Eagles
“Silent House” - The Chicks and Crowded House (though released 10 years apart).
“Sense” - Terry Hall and The Lightening Seeds
“One’s Too Many (And a Hundred Ain't’ Enough) - Nick Lowe and The Fabulous Thunderbirds
Off to work for awhile. Fun! Thanks :)
