Matthew Shipp- New Concepts In Piano Trio Jazz-***1/2
The Miles Davis Quintet- Steamin' With...***1/2
Lloyd Parks- Officially-****
(Loved this. Groovy, laid back reggae record from one time member of The Termites. Fantastic. Ansel Collins on keys, too.)
Martin Gordon- God's On His Lunch Break (Please Call Back)- ****1/2
(This was GREAT! Gordon was a member of Sparks, Jet and Radio Stars and this 2006 release was a rec from a friend. Every track a winner. )
Bruce Springsteen- L.A. Garage Sessions '83-****
(One down, six to go. Familiar with a bunch of these tracks from various bootlegs. But together in one place in excellent quality, is a revelation. Loved this.)
Bruce Springsteen- Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions-***1/2
(I wasn't a fan of the Oscar winning song, so an entire album of synths and drum loops didn't sound appealing, so I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this. At least five great tracks.)

I'll listen to the martin gordon for the title alone. Enjoying your Bruce rundowns! Ditto on Streets of Philadelphia so glad to hear that wasn't a slog. It sounded the least appealing of the "lost" albums.
Tried out Lloyd Parks & We The People - Meet The People since that was one I found streaming. Very good!
- Paul in DK
interesting group there.
Sorry to hear of your mishap, Sal. I hope you’re okay. Sad to hear no one offered to help. Note: Briefly confused TV’s Quinn Martin with MAD’s Don Martin, which really alters your message.
May today be a much better day for you, sir. :)
I enjoy all things BW. The reviews, comments, and recommendations combat the algorithms and the usual, often leading towards the unknown (for me). Exciting and fun stuff.
Enjoyed the Lloyd Parks album Meet The People (streaming) - a chill groove to ward off the heat. Martin Gordon was a wonderful surprise. Looking forward to Springsteen’s Tracks 2 being available via streaming later this week. And MDQ! :)
Question: What does the black box (found on the lower right) with small white print ‘39’ in the center?
