Ace Records is the bomb. I don't know what's on your playlist, but mine would just be the five CDs of Dave Godin's Deep Soul Treasures Taken From The Vaults. The Fame Studios Story and Take Me To The River (both Kent/Ace) are also good sets. Along with Rhino's work in the 90s, Ace is the place for reissues and rare finds.
All great collections. But my playlist is from before Ace was sold to Demon in the U.K.. It became a stellar reissue label, for sure. But it was originally Johnny Vincent's label that featured all late 50's and early 60's New Orleans R&B and rock and roll. Most sessions featuring a pre-Dr.John Mac Rebbenack, Red Tyler, Allen Toussaint, etc. Here's Volume One:

I learn something new every day. That indeed looks like a killer CD. Plays right into your love of New Orleans, which indeed has been a happening place for music since well before we arrived on the planet.
