Chinese Eyes has always been a favorite of mine, and it keeps growing on me over the years. I just listened to a playlist this weekend that had The Sea Refuses No River on it, and it really hit right. My only real complaint about the album is the talking on a couple of songs, but it doesn't bother me that much.

Pete had a great solo streak from Rough Mix to Chinese Eyes.

Bill,
Interesting comments, as I experienced almost the same thing yesterday, to the point where I jotted down a few notes as a possible blog piece. I even posted lyrics from Sea Refuses No River on Instagram. That song hit home last night.

The talking doesn't bother me. As a matter of fact, when the record first came out, Dan Neer, a DJ on WNEW-FM, read some of the lyrics from "Stop Hurting People" on the air, and he was audibly moved. Many years later, when my shop was a main supplier of CDs for Little Steven's Underground Garage, Dan Neer was working at the show and he and I would talk every day. I mentioned that incident to him and he knew immediately what I was talking about, because it rubbed a few people the wrong way.

Chinese Eyes is a pretty amaZing record.

Well, there's most of the blog post.
