Yesterday and Today was the second* Beatles album I bought, and remained my favorite one for a long time. I eventually discovered that it wasn't true an album, but I still feel that it holds together pretty well, and is a cracking collection of songs. I spent many years looking for the butcher cover that someone would mistakenly sell, but realized that was a fool's errand too.
*The White Album was my first Beatles album, which I bought after we had a section in 9th grade Social Studies class about the Manson murders (hey, it was the 70s). I thought how wild it was that the lads would be sending messages to Charlie across the Atlantic like that. Piggies was a favorite for a while. Now I'm more partial to Sexy Sadie.
